Steps |
What happens |
1. Join our database |
Click "Join Our Database" or email us at testinfo@email.arizona.edu to complete a short, confidential consumer profile and become a consumer tester. Please note, each person joining the database must have their own email address. |
2. Hear from us when testing is available |
We will contact you by email or phone when we have new studies available to see if you qualify. Most of our tests are at our Tucson facility but we also conduct tests across the state of Arizona, whether in-person or online. We do many kinds of tests, including taste tests, product use tests, online surveys, home use tests, and focus groups/interviews. Depending on the test, you may or may not be required to participate in person. |
3. See if you qualify |
Every test is different and our clients are often looking for feedback from people with different shopping behaviors, product usage, demographics, etc. Before we can schedule you to participate in a test, you will complete a screener, online or via phone, to see if you qualify based on the criteria set for the study. Please know that it is important that you are honest with your answers on the screener; to ensure we produce the highest quality of data possible, we will remove respondents from our database who have falsified their information. |
4. Schedule a time to test |
If you qualify for a study, someone from ProSense will contact you by phone to schedule you for a testing appointment. At that time, our recruiter will provide you with any details you may need for the test. |
5. Test and get paid |
For in-person testing, arrive at the testing facility at your appointed date and time. Please do not be late and remember to bring a valid photo ID. Complete the test, which may involve you using a product and providing your opinions about the experience. When you've finished, ProSense staff will check you out and you'll receive your compensation. That's all there is to it! |
FAQs
What kinds of studies DO YOU do?
We do a variety of studies including tests where you come in to our facility to taste or use products. We also have studies where you use products at home, participate in focus groups or individual interviews, online studies, ones where we measure some biometric feedback (like eye tracking or EEG), and more.
What happens when I sign up to be in your database?
Being in our database means that you have expressed an interest in being alerted when we have studies that become available. When a study opens, you will receive an announcement, usually by email, that tells you what the study is, how long it will take, how much it pays, and instructs you on how to complete the qualification screener.
The personal information you provide to be in our database will only be used for the purposes of recruitment, informational related to the research, or incentives/rewards. Your information will not be shared with any third parties and we will never attempt to sell you anything. You may withdraw from our database at any time by emailing us at testinfo@prosensecrc.com or calling our office at 520-881-0439.

I've filled out a qualification screener online. How do I know if i qualify?
If you’ve qualified and there are still available sessions for the study, you will be contacted by a ProSense recruiter to be scheduled for the test.
I have tried to get into your tests several times but have never been scheduled or have not been scheduled in a long time. Why?
Because of the nature of our tests, we often are looking for people to participate who meet certain criteria which vary from test to test based on our client's specifications and needs. If you have not been scheduled for a test, it is likely that you either did not qualify for the study or that all sessions for which you might have qualified had already been filled when we received your screener.
We know it can be frustrating not to qualify and, regardless of whether you have or not, we appreciate your interest in our studies and your willingness to participate. We encourage you to keep trying – we run many different studies and your turn may be coming up next.

How often can I test?
It depends. Our tests may have different restrictions on who can participate, how often, and on what kinds of products you may evaluate. For that reason, we do not have a set number or frequency of tests you can do.
However, to ensure that we maintain our high standards of research integrity, we may limit your participation if you have recently completed a test, particularly on a similar product or product category.

how much do you pay to do a test?
Compensation for every study varies and depends on the type and length of the study. You will always be made aware of the compensation being offered before you are scheduled.
When will i get paid after completing a study?
In most cases, you will receive compensation in the form of a check immediately after completing a study if you are testing at our facility. This may differ for home use tests and other special circumstances; in those instances, we will let you know when checks will be issued when you are recruited.
can i reschedule an appointment for an upcoming test?
Yes, provided we have other testing sessions available. Call our office at 520-881-0439 to speak with a scheduler.
What happens if I am running late or have to miss my appointment on the day of the test?
Because our tests run on schedules, we strongly encourage you to be on time for your appointment. However, we understand that things happen. If you are running late, please call us at 520-881-0439 as soon as possible. We may be able to reschedule you if we have enough notice ahead of time and there are open sessions.
To cancel an appointment on the day of a test, please call our office at 520-881-0439.
To ensure the quality of our research and meet deadlines for our projects, we do record no-shows, late cancellations (i.e. those on the day of the test), and late arrivals. Having too many of these may result in either a temporary suspension or your removal from our database so we can provide opportunities for other, more reliable, consumers who wish to test.
